Decent Cable Suggestions

Looking for some recommendations for quality ones. A newish fender one I had just died. I don’t want to make my own as I’m a useless C”@*! Thanks

I've been using Mogami cables for almost 10 years and have cables from 2011 still going. They cost a bit more than your average but for the longevity its worth it. Make sure you coil them up and don't lend them out to anyone! Also Planet Waves tend to be good, for a bit less.

I had one made by @robinbowes which is very good quality, much better than my fender custom shop cables and not too dissimilar a price.

I believe Fender cables have a lifetime guarantee? Take it back and get a replacement.

I use planet waves cables for years now.  I like the built in cable tie strap they come with so after gigs its real easy to cool them up neatly in my kit bag.

They do, but if you can find the original reciept! I think someone else had issues with that before!

I can make these using Van Damme cable to any length you like, and they come with a free cable tie

Planet Waves American Stage have been the first ones ever that haven't crapped out on me.

Wanted to give them a go before going up the next price bracket to the Mogamis of this world.

Take it back and get a replacement which isn’t a Fender.

They’re by far the most unreliable cables I know of currently - Planet Waves used to be, but they seem to be better now.

Or find someone who can solder and either repair it or replace the plugs, which is where the problem will be.

I wouldn't bother spending too much. Once you get to a certain level, you're paying more for (practically) nothing.

Decent plugs (eg. Neutrik), decent cable (eg Van Damme, Sommer), and well-made are all you need.

I really urge you to buy Evidence. I have heard the difference with my own ears and simply couldn't believe it.

I use to sell them - Actually I lie, they were so expensive I barely sold any - Very good but had to job them out in the end to get my cash back - But great cables as you mentioned

I've been watching this thread to see what suggestions you all came up with - I've sold plenty of PW cables over the years without many issues but know @icbm is not a fan, but few alternatives that sell for £20/40 in a store with a brand name

I've been through a few but settled on these:

Lifetime warranty but never had any issues, come with the little tag for neat packing too, and a range of colours so you don't get confused with FX loop or the like.
