Stickers on a guitar case

I usually put one on my case, so I know its mine. The pedalboard has one too.

I put my daughters Captain Barnacles stickers on. 



Yeah, I don't really give a toss and if anyone sneers, I blow them away with TONE and MASSIVE RIFFS

That's exactly what I used to do with my Dark Terror and pair of 1x12s (the Tower of Terror)

Actually I have a guitar that is full of stickers. Because the good people in japan like to emulate the look of one of their guitar heroes Ken Yokoyama.

So how would you go about removing stickers from a lacquer finished guitar?

Lacquer over or under the stickers?

When I used to remove stickers from old vinyl as part of my old job, I'd soak them in lighter fluid. Dunno if it'll affect a lacquer finish, but it never touched the cardboard or paper from the covers.

Ahah, stickers over the lacquer. Thankfully no lacquer over the stickers

I just don't know how the lacquer will react to that.

either way it helps to quickly Identify your own guitar, especially at multi-band gigs, jams, open mic nights that sort of thing.

Fender is quite a common name, true.

Yep, I've played The Wedgewood Rooms a few times with this guitar, it has to be said..... (there are more underneath and even more on other cases I have)

It's a real throwback isn't it?

Just a bit of a shame that it weighs about the same as a small moon.  Pretty much useless for transporting s guitar, so it lives out it's sad existance in the garage looking all nostalgic.

There was once a debate about stickers on motorcyclists' crash helmets, apparently the glue attacked the plastic and weakened it. Can the same happen to a guitar case?

I am actually a bit of an expert on this.  The word amongst the pros is do not stick guitar case to motorcyclist's crash helmets.  They kick right off.
