Strymon pedal names, what's the story?

What's Hot
FuengiFuengi Frets: 2850
Anyone know?

I'm guessing Flint and Ojai are from the City names in Michigan and California respectively, and I read something in the bumpf for the Dig about 'unearthing' old delays, so I guess that's the inspiration.

A Capistan is the thing that holds the tape reel I believe.

Brigadier, Mobius, Lex, Ola, Riverside, Deco, Orbit, all these must have a reference?

Is the Brigadier a delay pedal?  I'm thinking about bucket brigade technology.

Is the Mobius a looper?  Mobius loop.

The tape reel thing is a capstan, so I'm guessing it's a pun on El Capitan, the famous rock formation in Yosemite.

Of course! It's a bucket brigade delay.

I didn't know what a Mobius Loop was until a.minute ago. It's not a looper though, it's a modulation pedal but I'm sure that's the reference.

Riverside is a city in California in the greater LA region, not sure if the pedal is named after it though...

I'm thinking it's an Art Deco reference, there is something about the font that makes me think that. Probably wrong.

Riverside and Sunset (Boulevard) - both LA references.
    Flint - Detroit.
    Ojai - California.

Lex i always assumed was just a twist on Les, as in a Leslie Speaker.
Dig I always assumed was short for “digital” as it was modelled on the early Boss DD stuff.

    All just my speculation.

The word 'Strymon' harks back to from the latin 'Strides of Man'.

It's loosely translated in modern day as 'hipster cunts.'

    Now, now.................

We try to be all inclusive here do we not??..........even if we hate the ideology and ethos of the company!

My Deco and Flint are two very capable pedals, ergonomic and very functional.

The two films Our Man Flint and In Like Flint ( from what I've googled). I don't remember them well but  I think your answer makes a lot of sense.

Sunset drive and riverside drive are streets in Los Angeles.

Not overly familiar with these pedals, but they are 'drive' pedals.
