I bought a black Rick 360 some years ago on eBay for £465...local pickup only...the guy had the model number wrong and seemed really defensive when I asked him a couple of questions about it...so I let the auction run took a punt and sniped it. I met the seller at a metro station on a Sunday morning and quickly checked it out and handed the cash over. He was a really nice guy, he just came across a bit cagey as he said he'd had trouble in the past with people coming to his house to buy things. Best Rickenbacker I've ever had...and I've had a dozen or so...I gigged it for about 5 years and when it was just about needing the frets looking at, I sold it through my local guitar shop for £800.

A vintage Boss VB-2 from a shop on Denmark street sold as broken for £15. I could only test it out when I got home to Nottingham and it worked fine! The shop must've tested it in bypass-mode..

    Cornell Romany bought in 2003.
    Schaller distortion/fuzz from the 60's
Fender USA Delux strat, blond. Pre S1 switching.

Those three together give me wood.
If I had talent, I'd be talented.
    Red meat and functional mushrooms.
    Persistent and inconsistent guitar player.
A lefty, hence a fog of permanent frustration

Not enough guitars, pedals, and cricket bats.
USA Deluxe Strat - Martyn Booth Special - Electromatic
    FX Plex - Cornell Romany

My dirty old Sunn Mustang P-Bass copy that I took off my mate for beer money borrowed (£30) back in the 90s.
A refinish and replacement pickup and tuners later and it's still my main bass and has probably earned me more money than any other instrument I own.
^this... £50 although mines an old sunn mustang strat... refin, pickups etc but it’s like putting on an old pair of slippers...

Reggie Hamilton custom shop 5 string bass. They were around £3k new, I got one secondhand but immaculate condition for £1k. It was a superb bass but I eventually flogged it as it was too 'new' for me plus I decided at the time to go to 4 strings.

I've always fancied a strat one, but worried my P-Bass might have just been lucky

and now I must find one...

    my wife!
    Thai or Russian?
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

probably my 70£ roland alpha Juno 2
its probably worth somewhat more than 70 now

don't make ravey music anymore but the sub bass is colossal & I can sit there & twiddle with the alpha wheel on some filters for hours noodling away

can we add our worst too?
(korg Triton that was way above my head at the time & lost 100s on my first ever Ebay sale... fail)

  • My Matchless Chieftain 2x12 combo. I have it years now and it keeps kicking my arse to remind me how good it is and what it can do with a pedal in front. Feck the kids, its going to the grave with me.

Just got an immaculate 2-year old hifi amplifier with 18 years left on the warranty, for half price. Less than half price even. It really seems to be a buyer’s market at the moment.
18 years warranty left? Blimey. Result!
Mind you, I have an Arcam Alpha 6+ amp that's been in daily use since 1993 and never let me down.  Guess they didn't do planned obsolescence as well back in the day.
I’ve got a Pioneer SA-540 amp and a pair of Wharfedale Laser 30 speakers that have literally rarely been turned off since 1984.

That’s probably hard to beat for sheer value for money, they were only £49.99 each brand new...
