Are they as good as a Xotic ep booster?
They’re kind of different. I wouldn’t use the EP Booster to boost because it doesn’t allow for unity gain. It’s a bit loud at the lowest setting for me. I find that to be more of an always on pedal. Just gives your sound ‘something’. The Spark is more of a traditional boost pedal. YMMV

This is my Peach R8 Deal. I fully expect 6 million pages of comments on how wonderful their new TC Spark Booster is.

  • TC electronic dropped all their prices recently. I got one at 35 quid delivered from G4m. Great pedal for anybody considering the purchase!

  • Still seems available to pre order at that price but not sure if that would actually work-bit late to the party but very tempted!!

I didn't like the mini but the full fat one is great

Ooh would you elaborate further on that ? I’ve got a full size Spark and love it and was thinking of getting a mini for a mini board !

I was looking for a simple boost in level, but the mini seemed to add more high end which didn't work with my Strats. The full fat doesn't do that even when set flat.

Fwiw - I bought one about three weeks ago from GG on the same deal, there was only one left. Then it said pre-order and looks like same sale again this week at £35. Maybe like the mojo-mojo sub £40 is the new standard? Maybe TC are releasing something new and all conquering?
Either way for £35 it's a great pedal.

There are a few really cheap (~£35) TC peds at the moment but all are made in China. Mind you they still weigh a tonne and come in big boxes so not all bad then.

  • I’ve just had an email from GG saying they are out of stock and will email again when they expect mine to ship. I did point out that there were 5 in stock when I ordered and 2 in stock shortly after that.  Looks like I’ve somehow lost my place in the queue.

    Ha! Yeah, thanks Mark!

I didn't want another one, since it proved itself un-gigworthy.
I went for an MXR Booster Mini. The boost is massively loud when in the effects loop. Hardly need the dial past 9oclock.  Sounds great.
But its also got an extra preamp dial inside it (literally - screwdriver required). When in the loop its basically another gain stage to your amp. I had to back it off to almost zero otherwise the boost is unbelievable. But if you put this pedal in front of an amp the echoplex bit sounds lovely, is a great way to add gain and boost to a clean amp.
    Recommended above the TC.

My post failed to post immediately and now appears twice...I didn't click POST twice.
Mods - is it something to do with clicking 'QUOTE' from a post that is on page1 of a multipage post?

Mine arrived. But need to lose something off the pedalboard to fit it on. And I'm struggling...
