Hey hey folks. It has been a long time since I rock and rolled...and all that. 

So yeah, in keeping with previous times I'm probably posting in the wrong forum...but I've always been kinda off-topic.


I know you can get karaoke  tapes for singers - but can you get backing music for guitarists - where they take out the rhythm or lead guitars to play along with? Or is there an app that will butcher your MP3s so you can do it yourself?

Oh, and to answer another question - hobnobs.

Youtube is full of backing tracks in all styles - they usually tell you what key it’s in too.
Youtube is also (probably) full of Hobnobs... but that’s another story!

Thanks dood. I have been in a band for *years* but recent circumstances have meant that is has had to be put on hold - so am just, right now, looking for something to jam along to in my front room - whilst I gaze wistfully at my Marshall stacks and 6kW PA every time I walk past them! I'll be back on the road eventually no doubt.

Mr Hobbes has long passed. As did the number 2 wuff "Calvin dog" (aka giant wuff - he was half pyranean mountain dog...weighed in at just over 8 stone). Currently have Humphrey and Bernard. They are great wuffs.  And "dooood!" to you Mr Sporks. How is everyone?

Pretty good. Chateau Sporky has a dog now - Sprocket, who is a 3-year-old Old English Sheepdog. She's pretty ace.

Yes, you definitely can get all sorts of backings.  Back in the day I used to see "a mate of a mate" play:  just him on guitar and a singer. 

Lots of work for duos too.

Yup - still fencing. Last properly major competition I did was 2014 Commonwealth Games in Scotland - but still at it and training hard. Jnr is now 11 and he too enjoys hitting people with swords. Who'da thunk little kids enjoy hitting people with things!  

I'll try and stay around for a bit this time...what are we not allowed to discuss in OT these days?

Excellent Most things are fine, except anything that involves shouting (that goes in Behind Closed Doors, which you can only see from the front page) and politics (goes in Politics, surprisingly).

mix your own backing tracks at https://www.karaoke-version.co.uk/ - always buy the "do your own" (custom) option, you can make an dl as many different mixed of a track as you want.
