Ok I’ve been waiting for this day for some time as some of you already may know. Pulled the boat out on a Martyn Booth Signature guitar 9 months ago, picked it up today and I am absolutely amazed at the skill of this man and how consistently conscientious he is. He really is a true artist and an absolute gent.

I’ve yet to plug it in to my rig. Too late tonight but tomorrow now (better warn the neighbours ). However, I know it’s going to sound great because this thing rings out so loud acoustically. Kids are gonna have to go without xmas pressies this year though

What is HNG an acronym of out of interest?

I am deeply, deeply, envious.  I've had a hankering for a Martyn Booth guitar for many years and got as far as talking to Martyn about commissioning one.  I probably thought that I couldn't afford it at the time but, of course, I've since gone on to purchase several more guitars totaling far more than an MB Signature.  Maybe it's time to have another think.

    Enjoy your guitar - it's a beauty

I'd say do it @Musicwolf . It's an amazing build. i could've gone for much more bling but didn't want to pay for something that doesn't contribute to tone whatsoever but then again I take that view with everything really. Form and function ;) Feels so comfortable and much lighter than my Les Paul. Already considering moving that one on but it does have a lot of sentimental value to it :)

You are not helping, at least not my bank balance :)

Hasn't helped mine either but I don't regret it. I first met Martyn at a guitar show 10-12 years ago. Nearly commissioned one then but couldn't bring myself to do it. Would've been cheaper to do so then if I did. I've paid for my indecisiveness :(

What I can say though it has cured my guitar GAS as I know I'd never get a guitar equal to this quality again. My bank balance won't allow it. For a good while at least LOL

  • Utterly beautiful, congrats on the purchase.  It must have been hell waiting for delivery....but well worth it when it arrived.  What pups did you decide on?

I've la set of oil city in there. They sound good. It was either them or Seymour Duncan's. Martyn thought they sounded very Gibson like pups. Not sure if that's a good thing or not lol

  • That's not just for Xmas, it's in for the long haul. A worthwhile investment, indeed.
Would very much like to hear this one in action, but, would appreciate it if you could share your impressions of the Oil City pups.
    Happy New Guitar Day.l
