Pity. The guitar will now remain shrouded in mystery. I was hoping to take a look under the hood. ;)

They've probably received a temporary injunction from someone to hold the sale until they can advertise the key it was written in correctly.

I've always asked myself that question @miserneil I.e. what would I spend some of it on if I won etc. You've just answered that for me now ;)

Mind you I'll have to actually do the lottery to win I guess ;)

The gag is that there's a perpetual dispute about what key Sweet Home Alabama is in - some say G, some say D.

For some it's in G major because it's a V-IV-I chord progression with G as the I - but the melody line is a D major scale, so some people think it's that, and want it to end on the D... which can make stopping the song quite hard if one or more members of the band want it to go round again ;).

I think the answer is that it's in G with the melody in a different mode (I forget what it's called), but I don't know enough about music theory to know if that's correct - for me it's in G because it seems to want to end on that, as Skynyrd did, and because Ed King said it was in G... and he wrote it!

Riiiiight! That went over my head but perfectly plausible and certainly a point!

Finishing on the G has always worked for me :)

    There's still some left.....

    https://cartervintage.com/collections/ed-king-collection

Jason Isbell bought his '59 'Redeye'.....Seems only yesterday I saw him play a half full uni venue with the DBT's and now he's splashing a few hundred grand on a LP!  Collector Kris Blakely aka Fried Okra bought his '55 all gold LP.
People on forums question vintage guitar prices yet here they are selling like hot cakes. Isbell already gigs his immaculate '60 Strat and last year he bought a lovely '54 Tele. Seems like the well healed players are still snapping them up. Jason has promised to gig 'Redeye' He might not want to bring it to the Uni gigs again....
