I started poorly but after thinking I was going to tank the whole thing got the last 5 in a row for a reasonable 62%

I got 50% so clearly have no idea, my general rule of thumb is the more beaten up the less genuine, shows what I know!

7/8 - failed on Malcolm's guitar – relic’ing on the others was pretty obvious though

The top bit on the 78 Deluxe Tele looks relic to me.

4/8. A sad day. I assume I'll now need to hand back my membership card?

  • I got the Gretch wrong. Do they really sell them like that with the pickups missing? I guess it's some sort of replica tribute model.

    8. Not really that difficult - I never even looked at the bridge on the Goldtop, it was the finish that looked real.

6/8, I should have known about that Gretsch.

  • 7/8 I got the J45 wrong as it looked like an overdone relic, coarse scratches that looked like it had been played with a bit of glass.
I thought the Goldtop was probably real, more so because the bridge & TP had been changed.

The Tele Deluxe seemed real because it was in such good nick, those finishes were tough stuff.

I didn't really think it was that easy. The Nash Strat seemed pretty bad though.

7/8 - got the bass wrong.

I thought for a while about the goldtop, but noticed the lacquer checking wasn't even all over.  I figured it would have been more even if it had been a relic.
