I suppose we better trot out the usual ones.

Man some people are trying very very hard to justify that Blind Faith cover. Totally crossed off my babysitting list.

The counter to Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking would be Going For the One by Yes, featuring a naked bloke and his arse staring at tall buildings. My love for widdly widdly progressive rock and my late-70s teen homophobia had terrible clashes about that one.
I recently picked this up on vinyl second hand from a local store. My 9 year old was like ' but dad - its a man's bum!'

I'd be put off by the dodgy Strat copy. Look at the black on the forearm contour area, clearly hiding a plywood body which can only mean no mega tonez!

Attitudes to the Polydor UK cover of Blind Faith are forever changing.

The current denial stance stems from fear of what others MIGHT think of adult males who dare to own and look at the photograph of Mariora Goschen.

    Assumed thought crime, methinks.

By this logic, a whole bunch of master paintings are also going to need censoring or destroying.

When did British society revert to being so hung up about nudity?

If I had the Blind Faith album (hmm, I initially typed "Bland Faith"...) I would want the original cover.  Just because... it's the original cover.

Similarly I'd want Electric Ladyland with the naked ladies cover, I know they say Hendrix didn't like that picture but it's what I saw in the record shops for all those years.

I realise both albums were issued with different covers in different territories.

I'm more perturbed by the Scorpions' Virgin Killer cover because in that case there was a definite intention to shock/offend.  But the replacement cover is pretty ridiculous... perhaps they should've changed the title as well.

Any cover that looks like that is an instant purchase.

Luckily it comes from the good era of Pantera.

I never know if you're being serious with comments like that (first part).  There are certainly hundreds - thousands - of metal albums with terrible GCSE-project dungeons and dragons cover paintings.... which shouldn't put anyone off investigating the contents.

As for good era Pantera, I've only listened to the first four albums a couple of times.  I think I liked two of them but wasn't crazy about the others.  I forget which.  But I don't particularly like all the later albums either.

To go back to the OP, I can't really think of any album cover which would actually ruin an album for me, or stop me buying it.  They're just pictures.

I'll always go for 80s records with art like that. Especially if they are on Black Dragon or Mausoleum Records. Steel Vengeance? Heavy Load? Always worth a punt.

Heavy Load are a good example of that kind of terrible artwork, right down to their Rodney Matthews ripoff logo.  Stronger Than Evil's a pretty good album though.

I know this cover gets posted a lot and I always say that I did see her live but, what the hell... I saw her live! Long time ago but my memory of it was as many jokes ( at the audience expense) as singing.

For me it's Sabbath's Born Again. Too terrible to link here. The music isn't that bad imo.
Sabotage is even worse, although the tracks are fine.
