This is way off what I normally listen too, but I still like it after 12 years, so I think it's a keeper!

If we are not ashamed to think it, we should not be ashamed to say it.

We were discussing Gone to Earth by David Sylvian on here the other day which is one of my favourite albums of all time despite having little in common with anything that might make that list.
And despite my general dislike of prog rock ( which usually fails as progressive and as rock ) I love pretty much everything Rush.

    Ellie Goulding's Halcyon
I got a lol for this but I'm being genuine, it's a brilliant album and much better than her other efforts. Lovely synth textures that work quite well with her voice, much more ambitious than her other stuff

Oh, I thought she was an athlete.  I must have been misled by those adverts where she says she strengthens her hair like she strengthens her body...

I'm a fan of Thea Gilmore, who is definitely not metal.

Can't remember how it happened really, I think I just heard a track from her Rules for Jokers album long ago and loved it.  I still buy all her stuff but I must admit I mostly listen to that particular album.

    Camel- Rain Dances.
I hate keyboard and moog heavy prog, but I can't help liking this (and most Camel)
Edit- especially on vinyl, this one.
I love Stationary Traveller - it captures the atmosphere of the late Cold War better than almost any other music, for me - but I’ve never really been able to get into anything else of theirs, despite having tried - a friend was really into them at school.

  • A friend of mine recommended me Ryan Adam's album of Taylor Swift covers. It sounded like an effing dreadful concept and was full expecting to hate it, but actually rather enjoyed it!

Even ended up coving a couple of the tracks myself with said friend at some acoustic gigs.

I guess I'm mostly prog, classic rock, hard rock, metal.

Love this album by tall head, round head and Buxom wench a lot though:

No, it’s dreadful :). I know he wanted to try something different so he didn’t just make another Passion & Warfare... but he succeeded.

Basically it’s everything I dislike about the sort of music that makes it surprising that I love everything else he’s done ;).
