Doubt it, all the 1980s armageddon angst, which is the background, would be hard to convey.

The graphic novel is brilliant, as was the film. I agree with @munckee that it is the best Superhero film. I know that everyone is fawning over Avengers right now, and fair play, I haven't seen those films, but Watchmen was a TRUE representation of comics in a way that the Marvel films rarely seem to be.

Not quite sure where the story will go? I wouldn't think you could do the same thing. Is this going to be on Netflix or Amazon?

I'm in two minds about this ... I adore the graphic novel, and loved the movie adaption.  This though has no involvement with any of that and is a "in the same universe, many years later" thing written by the perpetually disappointing Damon Lindelof.  I'll give it a go but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Dave Gibbons is quoted as saying that he was very impressed with what they have done with  the source material but that it is not what people will be expecting.  I loved the comics and the movie and and very intrigued so will be watching.

Love the graphic novel, didn't read it until anthologised though

liked the film but don't think it done the comics justice

The Watchmen film was a bit different really to the book, but in general, yes it was a very good interpretation,

It's interesting to me that everyone goes on about how much better Marvel movies are, when there's three DC movies that trump any marvel film:

Watchmen
Batman the Movie
Superman the Movie


They may even be the best comic book movies of all time (but TMNT and Scott Pilgrim Vs the World come pretty close)

Best one they haven't made yet is Miller et al's The Dark Knight Returns.  Alluded to it in the Christopher Nolan trilogy admittedly

He's an aging hulking brute is that Batman, dominates every frame. Great graphic novel that one, very angry aesthetic.

The two-part animated adaptation is great. It's on most of the streaming services if folks haven't seen it.
