Was expecting more unusual guitars but nice none the less.

Why have they taken the best pickup out the Strat?

    Erm... you know it’s broken?
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

    FTFY.

Many Strats in my ownership have undergone such surgery. Mind you, so have many Les Pauls...

    To paraphrase a biblical quote:

”...if thy pickup offends thee, pluck it out.”

It’s been the same for many years. I can recall very similar transactions with @Funkfingers almost 20 years ago.

"They" took all three of the stock pickups out of the guitar because the output and tone weren't much cop.

"They" tried all sorts of US and UK aftermarket replacement pickups before settling on a Seymour Duncan Antiquity Custom Strat, Bridge and a Five-Two RPRW middle.

Lord Seven now has to decide whether to fork out for a second Antiquity 1 or an SSL52-1N. One of these is considerably more expensive than the other. Can you guess which option is more likely to be chosen? ;)

To all those of you who think that the 2016 MIJ FSR Stratocaster is broken, you need to see some close up photographs of the Squier JV.

    Neither. See earlier posts. ;)

In their different ways, each of those white MIJ Stratocasters is nice. I could not decide between them so I parted with both.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the Jazzmaster should suit me after a few modifications. Bridge saddles, rubber tubing in the "thimbles" and the inevitable Duncan Antiquity pickups.

    UPDATE:

    This item ...

... finally received the Seymour Duncan Antiquity 1 bridge/Treble pickup that I have been threatening to install for nine months! (In true hoarder fashion, I actually owned the pickup before the guitar!)

The pickup does exactly what it says on the tin. Pure Nokie Edwards/Ventures twang. No nasty trebly edge.

    Boing, said Zebedee.  =)

Nah. County lines is minors, hoping to avoid arrest. Fretboarders are wrinkly old gets who smell of nitro-cellulose.
