How much detail do you go into, is there such a thing as too much?

the more expensive or obscure the more detail may be better...certainly spec, etc   I would try not to waffle

Actual details the more the merrier but no personal waffling about how you love the guitar etc.

Declare any faults. Draw attention to dings, however minor. Fret condition is very subjective so take good photos. Basically do everything you can so the buyer can’t feel as if you were trying to hide something in the description which can lead to a partial refund or return.

It would also help to include a photo of some random rock god holding a similar guitar thus suggesting it belonged to him.

,Add any defects and tell the customer exactly like it is.If its a Fender just unscrew the lot and sell as parts .You will make more money with no hassle.

Start with a well-loved phrase such as “Here we have...” or “Up for grabs is...”.  Finish on a flourish with “Grab a bargain!”
