Guy selling used guitar same price as new

I look at local stuff all the time. Rarely buy. I'm a guitarist who gets gigs as a bassist. Last thing I need is another guitar!

Happens on guite often that people try to sell a guitar for more than the new cost, best to ignore them.

There is currently a used  Behringer EQ700 on ebay for £23 posted and it has 6 bids, £2 more than a new one from GAK or Amazon

The “blood mist” seems to overcome some buyers on eBay. I was bidding on a Hercules stand last year and dropped out as it passed the new price.

@Jono111 @drofluf ;I was practically addicted to eBay about fifteen years ago. I'd have pulled out of auctions on used items when they went over what I was willing to pay but noticed sometimes the highest bid was higher than a new item! I guess it's just the competitive element.

Fortunately people selling new items from home and having less overheads but using eBay or Amazon as a storefront have brought a lot of prices down. The Chinese doing it too has some prices even lower if you prepared to wait longer.

Even if it is over the new price it probably will sell eventually. Happens all the time on eBay. I don’t understand it myself.

I like cheap guitar's if they have potential as I don't mind taking on some work. I only had one HB guitar, which was a resonator that basically had the biscuit bridge in the wrong place in relation to the spider cone and wouldn't intonate. This has put me off Harley Benton.

No one thing particularly. There’s just nothing to really like, I own a number of instruments from American manufacturers and prefer them. There’s nothing wrong with Harley Benton guitars, they’re probably great value for money, but I find them a bit bland and soulless.

I have an E35 in cherry which I replaced the tuners with some gibson pearloid and put some seymour duncan vintage blues pickups in.  Sounds great.  There are some issues the switch isn't brilliant and I'm about to replace it and I've had to resolder the jack a couple of times.

Sounds great though and plays really well.  Not for sale but I would thoroughly recommend them, I prefer it to epiphone dots I've played.

Flying V, (older style with “proper “ shaped headstock, an  Explorer, a  big semi like a White Falcon and a red slimline semi, (HB35?). I have a huge number of guitars some of which just don’t get used . I must get my act together and do a bulk eBay listening, probably in the autumn.
