After reading countless posts about R8 & R9 Les Pauls and wondering what exactly they were, it hit me this morning that R8 = '58 Reissue and R9 = '59 Reissue.

Am I right?
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

I'm probably the only member of this forum mentioned by name in Whiskey in the Jar ;)

Yep! And R0 = '60 reissue. Took me a while to clock that as well.

Beware. Following the penny drop often many pounds are then dropped to acquire one.

I thought that R9 was just a tier up from R8. Ah well, at least I wasn't the only one!

Presumably TR7 means within 18 months of purchase it’s rusted into many pieces, is unplayable, worthless, but collectors will pay a lot of money because of the brand name?
