A local shop has a Columbus Model 2 LP copy The bolt on neck and shiteburst brown finish aren’t doing much for me but it looks pretty clean and it’s only £25. Are they any cop?

As a learning experience for how to strip and reassemble an electric guitar? Yes.

As a playable instrument that will be a joy to own? Probably not.

    I’d use one for slide.

You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

  • Believe it or not I actually collect MIJ Columbus guitars. Find the right ones and in my opinion you would be surprised as to how good they can be. They will give a lot of the more expensive versions a good run for their money.

It’s sold anyway but thanks for the info. I didn’t think it was going to be amazing but for £25 it might’ve been worth a punt. I had a black Columbus LP back in my teens and can remember being underwhelmed. It looked ok at a distance, I think I was more concerned with looking like Robert Fripp back then than how it played.
