Looking reccomendatins for pc interface.

I had the 2i4 for several years when I first started recording, the Scarlett range are solid interfaces, come with some plugin download codes (even a lite version of a DAW) and Focusrite do some form of giveaway, like a discount or lite version of a plugin each month for registered users.

I'm in the same boat and am veering towards the Steinberg UR22 Mk2 over the Scarlett. 

Gearslutz has quite a lot of informative comparison discussions.

The latency of the 2nd gen Focusrite Scarlett looks pretty good. Do the 3rd gen match or improve on this?

I'm using a Zoom UAC-2 USB3, which has good low latency performance, but it looks like the Focusrite Scarlett is cheaper and seems to be in the same ball park.

Personally I'd avoid anything that can't achieve less that 7ms.

I had a version of Steinberg come with an AI I bought at christmas, after literally hours of downloads and updates I couldn't get the damn thing to work?

Installed Audacity and it worked straight away!

I'm after another interface, looking at the Audient range.  The ID4 might be worth a look at.

I had an Audient Mico a while ago and the mic pre was very nice.

I have used the Steinberg UR22 for years.  Rugged and reliable in my experience.
