Agreed it does look good with the natural wood - thing is I've already built 3 guitars with a natural ash finish, so I kind of want to do something different. Also, I find I always really like the look of the unfinished wood, but the finish inevitably changes the appearance a bit - it's a shame, but you just can't keep the totally plain wood look. And I do like blue, and I haven't got a blue guiitar, so that's the way it's going. I won't be going for a really intense stain or anything, the plan is that the nice grain will still be very visible.
