    @sweepy (again - these are a little less commonplace);

    Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

    Or, if the original SGs are a bit too heavy, you could always build your own ...

    Lovely. Unusual finish as well for that.
    I'm always looking for interesting USA Hamers for sale.

    At the moment I'm looking for:
    * Hamer Watson, SS2, Vintage S, T62.
    * Music Man Luke 1, Luke II

    Please drop me a message.

    OR a slightly later born build (this one was more of a rebuild rescue)

    Yes, my name is TTony, and I'm quite partial to  double cuts.

  • Yamaha MSG/Image.The horns are more rounded/Venetian but the symmetry is there. Lighter than an SG with simpler control layout and shares the same fretboard radius as an SG with a 25 inch scale-length. Worth a look if you can locate one, they're quite rare these days.

  • Hamer `Mirage. Not quite symmetrical double cut but a great instrument that doesn't leave a dent in your shoulder.

    That reminds me of the Tokai Love Rock II, very similar shape to the Yamaha MSG, I did wonder if they'd actually ripped it off.  I don't know if they make them any more.

    Apologies for side-track:

    Are these any good? Someone near me is selling one, and it looks interesting. Tempted to take a punt, but don't know if A) they're up to the standard of the other MiJ Les Pauls that I know are much lauded; B) if the £600 asking price is reasonable.

    Anyone had one?

    I did have a Love Rock II for a while.  It was... an MIJ Tokai.  So yes, very nice, well made, great upper fret access as you can see.  Definitely up to the standard of other MIJ Les Pauls.

    My only slight complaint would be that the control layout's a bit cramped.  And the one I had was way too heavy - I phoned the shop and asked "Does the slightly thinner body mean it's lighter than a standard Love Rock?".  Yes, they said.  I didn't ask the actual weight, which turned out to be nearly 10 lbs...

    Hard for me to say if £600 is reasonable.  That's what mine cost, new, but it was in 2010.  I don't know what a fair price now would be.
