Thanks for the effort @guitartango, but as you can see from the post immediately prior to your screenshot, I'd just bought one.  I do appreciate what you did but with all due respect, you can't really make out I've been ungrateful just because I ordered a machine before you posted!

I just had to check that normal washing machines don’t cost £700. Can’t even remember what ours is but I doubt if it broke £300 and gets used a lot ( four adults and a dog a lot). 
£700 on a washing machine for Emp and Mrs Emp - presumably you are hoping it will see you out.

In the end I spent a pair of socks under £380.  I was just thinking “buy cheap, buy twice” and all my life I’ve bought the cheapest of the cheap...  
laminate (now buggered), tools that bend or break, slow phones that are obsolete but I never update as they work (just) etc.  

Now I’m no longer up to neck in debt, I can afford a couple of hundred extra on something to make it last a bit longer.  Some of these machine are nudging two grand FFS!  TWO G for a rotating tub that cleans clothes!

Ah, well that's all familiar to me. Hope you enjoy many years of clean clothes from it.
