If you think there is an SRV album that sounds as good as Live at the El Mocambo then you a crazy man.
    Sounds... by far.
    Any of em.

Playing and vibe wise is subjective.

But I think they sound great.

What if you think it all sounds awful?
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I must say I listened to the albums after hearing so many people go nuts about SRV and thought they sounded really badly produced.

He sounds amazing on Lets Dance though.

  • In my covers band I tried a minimalist setup with just a blues driver and a dm2 delay.  On most stuff I got away with it fine with the exceptions of songs where I normally try and play the keyboard parts (either with a POG2 or DD500).  Without those pedals it does sound rather thin and empty e.g. “a town called malice’ sounds really weird without a (faux) Hammond organ.
