    The Gibson Moderne story happened the other way around. Ibanez made some in the Seventies, based on an illustration in one of Ted McCarty's red herring patent applications. So strong was the belief that Gibson MUST have made some in the Fifties that they ended up manufacturing a short run of them in the early Eighties.
