Imagine these will suffer the same fate - don’t look very exciting or different to me. Uninspiring colours, too. Be interesting to see the measurements on the ‘Modern D’ neck, though.

Can't wait for the super-ultra-megazord range that'll surely come next?

Fender strats are still sooo boring to look at.   Surely they could realise a side range exactly as thr current spec but with flamed lava burst,  trapezoid mother of pearl inlays and it would be awesome.

    The prices are ridiculous

Edit: now that it's been pointed out that it's an Australian website, the price isn't ridiculous after all.

Interesting to see how the Jazzmaster has made it into this range.

Yes mate, we know you don't like Fender Strats.

Not everyone wants to wear a gaudy guitar and there's a huge market for traditional colours for people who like to be understated. Plus these guitars are aimed at working professionals who want certain features that improve stability over insignificant cosmetic addons.

Those prices make the current Elite deals an absolute steal.

  • I quite like the look of the black Strat with the copper pick guard. Not at those crazy prices though...

Current Elite deals make the Mexican Vintera range a steal.  I'd much rather have proper Fender style fretboard radius, and proper single coils.  You can also get classic colours like Sonic Blue in the Mexican range.

I liked the Elite's truss rod adjuster, sad to see that has gone

I've got an Elite Strat and they are great guitars to play. The pickups are shit, but it stays in tune for days, intonates perfectly, is easy to play and the attention to detail is great. They are also really affordable at the moment

Personally at the prices they are at I couldn't fathom getting a Mexican Vintera over the Elite, but I know how good they can be. :)

I know. And at the current exchange rate that would make them around £1700.

  • Does Fender ever make any Strats without scratchplates or does one have to go to the likes of Charvel, Jackson etc. for that kind of thing?
