I have a couple - an Emerald 12 and 6 carbon fibre acoustic and a 7 and 6 electric I made from Ibanez parts - heavy and awkward but great fun.

Some twin neck guitars seem to be a guitar and a bass combined...

    What's the point of that?
One musician, doubling on two instruments means extra pay!

The player can Dance On A Volcano and see whether Supper’s Ready.

It takes some getting used to .... not so much the weight but the inbalance ....they are very neck heavy so you balance it with your foreman while playing it.

Good job that mate, sounded brilliant!

My head said brake, but my heart cried never.

Billy Sheehan has a twin neck bass, both with 4 strings. Apparently he can't get on with 5 string basses so one is BEAD, and the other EADG.

  • Never liked them. One or both will always be at the wrong playing position. Heavy as hell. All because you didnt make up your mind what sort of guitar to bring.

Oh yes, they look silly too.

There is compelling evidence for the awesomeness of a guitar/six string bass combo.

I have an Ovation 6/12 double neck which gets used on a few songs.  TBH we could get away with a 6 & 12 string on a stand (which is what we used to do), but it looks good to have the double neck.  @WezV built me a bass & 12 string doubleneck for a prog rock band that I used to play in.  There was 12 string on the intro and the pre-chorus, which is why I needed it (needed is probably a bit of an exaggeration).

    Top work that man.

And may I also add serious props to whoever did the sound on that video? Just as good as your fretwork.
