The Les Paul is a guitar that you can buy almost anywhere.  A lot don't even think of it as a signature guitar.  Almost every other signature guitar started out as a standard instrument that got changed or modified in some way.  So Les Paul is has to be.

Just to be different, I have one of these:
Image result for apache anniversary guitar
which I absolutely love (though probably in a minority here LOL!)  If money were no object though, I'd go for this one:

A masterbuilt copy of Hanks original Strat, bought for him by Cliff in 1959. Only 57 were made and there is currently one back up for sale for the bargain price of £12.5 K
Friend of mine has 2 of those master builds, nice guitars. I'm involved with a Shadows night every 3 weeks in my local pub. Guys from all over the south bring in some great red Strats and there's a Burns night every now and then in which case most of them own and bring in Burns guitars

Ooh - interesting. It's not in Hersham by any chance? I pop into the Surrey Shadows club there every month, similar kind of thing.  :)

I’ve got 3 sigs now which is kind of strange as I wouldn’t call myself a fanboy as such. I guess I’ve voted with my wallet for these though.

My R8 barely counts as Les Pauls are so ubiqitous.

I have a Jem 7vh which is very cool. I like Vai but not a mega fan.

I am however a massive Clapton fan. But the main reason for procuring this little beauty was the spec and in particular the modified v profile neck combined with wider than standard  string spacing at the bridge. Couldn’t seem to find that spec in anything other than this 00028-ec or one of the CEO’s.

90% of the live gigs I’ve ever done was playing one of these even though I’m not really that kind of guitarist. I wish I’d never sold it on

Ibanez Universe. That started a whole movement.

Charvel GG for being so well made, versatile and different.

For me, it has to be this one.

I don’t think I’d want one but I absolutely adore it

I tell you the one I was most suprised by. The Kotzen Tele.

I dont like Teles or gold hardware, but once i picked the one i bought up and played it, it was a no brainer.

Didnt even know who RK was.

Other than that, I think the EBMM axis has stood the test of time. Dont know many other guitars that lost their artist, got renamed and kept selling consistently.
