Out of the blue, I played 2 Rush albums last week. One of my main bands when I was a teenager, what a shame to lose such a guy.

  • Not been this hurt since the passing of Gary Moore.
Been a massive fan from 1979 at the age of thirteen. First saw them in '83 on The Signals tour & met them too, (always treasured my autographed ticket)
Remember being completely enthralled by Neil's ability that first gig and went on to see them live many more times.
Fuck this is sad. Way to young, should have had many more years enjoying retirement.
    He entertained so many millions.
    RIP

Incredible musician. In my view the best rock drummer of all time, and co-writer of many brilliant records and one flawless one (Moving Pictures). Devastated :(

I know I'm being really pedantic but can someone amend the thread title to spell his name right.

    Edit:
    Thanks whoever sorted that :+1:

  • I remember one band I was trying to get off the ground with a Smashing Pumpkins fan on drums. He liked my spacey bits with phaser which were inspired by my love of Caress of Steel.

I have this very t-shirt and saw that tour - my 15 yr old son, now a Rush and Neil Peart convert/follower, wears it.

Wow, I was in shock to just see this in the news. Rush were one of the most important bands of my life. Neil was an AMAZING drummer. Rest in peace, you did good.

The retirement makes sense now. Sad sad day.

Like many others, Rush was a backdrop to my teenage years. Amazing drummer and very humble about his abilities. RIP Neil.

Not sure anyone is still following this thread, but ... Interesting - Rush dominate streaming services following Neil Peart's death

Still sad, roll the bones was one of my first albums as a child and on repeat for years.
