    Amen, brother.

and instant ‘coffee’ is fit only for chopping into lines and snorting, to sustain a fellow till he can grab a cup of the real stuff.

  • What's wrong with using your espresso machine to properly texturised the milk? Or are you using a pod machine?

Don't people just shake the milk bottle?
    Yes!

Hold on, that isn’t a euphemism is it?

I just put the cup in the microwave for 30 seconds then use a cheap mini milk whisk.  My coffee machine has a proper steaming spout but the microwave is quicker and easier.
The steamer should only take 10-15 seconds, is easier to clean and will give you vastly better results
I’ll have another go but as I remember it takes about 30 seconds then a minute to heat back up enough to make the coffee.

I only like espresso, can’t bear a long coffee.

My wife loves a late in the morning, and I dutifully make one by hand. I warm whole Jersey milk in a pan, and beat it with a hand ‘balloon’ whisk.
It gives the best firm froth, my wife prefers it over all the fancy frothers we’ve tried.

I also prefer a Bialetti stove top espresso maker to any fancy coffee machine.  Those Nespresso pod are bloody lawful, tastes like coffee floor sweeping.

I was talkin bout that the other day, can you still get it?  Good shit and you can use it as a flavouring for other things if I remember the label correctly

Moka pots are good, but not espresso - basically it's a burnt, concentrated brewed coffee. It's one of my favourite ways to enjoy coffee, along with french press and true espresso (which is, by far, the most pain in the arse method to get a tasty coffee as you need a good grinder, fresh beans and the patience to dial in).

OP, if you have a decent espresso machine with a steaming wand and it has a shitty automatic frother thing, take it to someone who knows what they're doing so they can give you a good steaming wand and learn to temperature surf the boiler so you don't lose steam power mid way. You'll get proper texturised milk, rather than frothy hot milk (which sounds similar, but makes a hot milky coffee rather than a silky smooth latte or macchiato).

Funnily enough, I've seen them - I think they were supporting Lamb Of God, or maybe Machine Head.
