Am I the only one who hates mini pedals? They stupid and wobbly when velcroed, never have room for a battery, and you can’t the change knobs with your feet.

  • Definitely up for one of those! Don’t attach minis with Velcro - bike chain links is the way to go.

theres always stomptrap as an elaborate solution to one of those ^

Hopefully down the line MXR will release a 'big box' version...

    (1) I fit a wider strip of velcro to my mini pedals and cover the exposed sticky surfaces with black electrical tape to stop them getting manked up with fluff. The result is greatly reduced wobbliness. Some Xotic pedals actually do have room for a battery. But I agree about the knob size thing (oh please, we're better than that).

    (2) I reckon part of MXR's deal with Paul Cochrane will be to reduce the impact on his own sales by not releasing a normal size version

  • Superb idea. I am probably wrong but I reckon that the reason so many clones of this have made it to market is because supply doesn't meet demand in terms of PCs output. I hope this works out for Paul and hope that he makes a mint off it.

No you’re not. I don’t like them either and don’t have any despite having tried a few. I just find the standard MXR/Boss size ideal for using during a gig anything smaller is a bit too small a target to hit on the fly. I also much prefer the full-size controls. Of course it’s all personal preference though
This is the truth from hillbilly guitars!

    They are annoying.
I use a small piece of ply painted black and cut out slightly longer than the pedal.
Dual lock on the pedal to the ply, velcro on the ply to the pedalboard.

Those things are nearly 20 quid each!
That works out at about a thousand bike links.

I don’t like mini pedals either.

Unless I have a mini pedal sized space.

    Then I like mini pedals.

...and ironically more expensive than some mini-pedals!

I hope there's good things for PaulC from the MXR collab - everything I've read says he is one of the true  gents of the pedalworld.

Oh nice! I had no idea what people were going on about bike chains for, but this is an elegant solution! Thanks for posting the picture.

Infinitely cheaper - just go to your local bike shop - they will have a bucket of old chains and if they won’t give you one, go to a different bike shop! You’ll need a chain cracker too but I already had a couple!

Mini pedals have got me out of a bit of a Tetris situation on my board. I use a switcher tho so don't actually touch them

I think this is a reasonable. I also favour the Polytune Mini, because tuners aren't fun enough to warrant a full pedal's space.

Mini pedals are all right if you've got mini feet, otherwise you're stepping on 3 pedals at a time.

Mostly agree but Xotic pedals, EP, SL etc do harbour batteries
