Ah, the Tom Morello Strat has emerged!

It is nice but £1,259.00 is quite pricey for a Mexican made Strat
Couldn't agree more. You'd be better buying the aerodyne in the classified and a sharpie. Disappointing price.

Also, very surprised this exists, surely teaming up with a huge global company to make a guitar that cashes in on your name and charges way more than the actual value of the guitar simply because its a signature is one of the most capitalist things you can do? I get the selling records to get your message across thing but this seems a step too far... getting in bed with the machine is a far cry from raging against it. Im sure the demand is there though so fan service and all that... just seems a bit too pricey for what and who it is.
To be fair it’s got a floyd, compound radius, additional wiring and switching options and upgraded pickups.

Id expect it to sit around £1100 when in shops which seems decent value.
Oh yeah, I’m not saying it should be player series prices, but it needs to be sub £1k!

Check out my band Coral Snake if you like original hard rock!

Quite a few new NAMM introduced models now listed on the fender website <https://shop.fender.com/en-GB/winter-namm-2020/>.

I'm quite resistant to GAS (I find if I don't act on it for a month or so, the desire to own a particular guitar fades away) but the new Shell Pink AO 60s Strat might be the Strat I'm looking for. I think the Daphne Blue 60s Jag might also be a new colour variant and looks rather nice if you are in the market for an offset.

yeah, love the shell pink, hopefully they come down a bit though because they're at about £1600 which is too much for what they are really
Bollocks you don't know Bono !!

They’ve got some blinders for 2020. The return of cunife for wide range humbuckers has got me dribbling. I wish they were doing a deluxe rather than a custom, but every chance I’ll end up with a custom shop 70s thinline with 2 wide range humbuckers if they sound as good as the originals, but don’t feel like badly built shit.
The parallel universe model with the gold foils that Ron Thorn has designed looks an absolute peach. I’ve got an Asher with gold foils or I’d buy one.

Theres a lot more than just new colours on standard models.

Fender have also announced a US factory built 70th Anniversary Broadcaster as an alternative to the CS model that is already available. Looks like a tasty alternative to the AO 50s Tele for a reasonable premium. The spec lists CS hand wound pickups and it apparently comes with an alternative blender wiring kit in the case.

Yes. This is the dog's doo das.

    I've ordered one. Comes mid-Feb.

It's not logical, but I want it badly.
I’ve built my own tribute version of it, which I love.  But this is an emotional thing. I want a Fender made USA Broadcaster replica. Sometimes you want something enough that overrides your usual logic and intellectual position.

Now I have to sell stuff to be back in the black!

The original models from the late 80's were cool - Limited run - choice of colours - Believed to be £950ish - maybe only a run of 300
Fender HM2 Strat reissue Flash Pink limited edition
I loved my one back in the 80s (black, maple board). I've got a serious itch to try one of these. Of course, they're not the £275 I paid for mine back in the day

  • I’d love to have a go on one, but for £1k and the fact that they’ve only made 300 worldwide means it’s not going to happen. I have fond memories of Greg Howe shredding on one in that instructional video.

In fairness, yes it is horrible.
Needs to be a 12-string though...
Not much of the gear, even less idea.

  • So the Lead II and III, which were always about being a stripped down, simpler and cheaper alternative to the Strat, are more expensive than the player Strat.

Massive fail by Fender, ridiculous. They're also more expensive than some of the original Leads you sale.
