That's exactly my point. They *did* make one, now they don't. The new one is different, and not as interesting to me.

These were probably going to be delayed anyway. Fender have form for announcing a new model which is then only actually released a year or more later.

I finally managed to purchase a Tenor Telecaster a few months ago after it was originally “released” at Winter Namm in January 2019, and even then the actual stock levels are fairly thin on the ground.
