is there anything that has it's own little signature sound going on in much the same way a BJFE HB has?

For me it's Thorpy Peacekeeper - such a range of tines and so much control too

Many guitars have a re-sale value. Some you'll never want to sell.

Agree the Thorpy Peacekeeper is excellent, as is the Mad Professor Supreme. It can get ballsy too, but naturally better in the lower gain regions for me. Both are also great boosters, and stack well

Liquid sunshine mkii or Supreaux for mild grit

Hate the Klon, KOT, POT, OCD l, Timmy as they are so bland.

Have yet to try a Peacekeeper or Lightspeed though

Slightly modded COT apparently, no idea how different it is from the original circuit.

Honey Bee, ODR-1 (I have a clone with an added bass control), and Barber Half Gainer are the ones I've liked most of those I've used. The Barber is very versatile, but I slightly preferred the character of the other two (although there wasn't much in it, and I could easily imagine someone else preferring it).

Although a good compressor that can add a bit of boost, like the Thorpy Fat General, would also be an option.

  • Tumnus for me at the moment but I want to try a Thorpy Peacekeeper (I've got the Gunshot which is great) and also a Timmy to see how they compare.
