  • Hehe :)

This is the problem with rack rigs, I've found - they're just too damn heavy. I'd love nothing more than to grab the Soldano SP-77 that's on eBay right now, a Marshall 20/20 power amp, put a TC G-Major 2 in there and let 'er rip, but even that's going to be obscenely heavy relative to what I've got right now.

I'd love to take you up on that, but the other problem is that I'm strapped for cash and the only thing I've got to trade is one of Jaden's Salvo guitars. I doubt that's going to tickle your fancy given that you're all about the rack gear ;)

Mine's similar to what your building I think ...... I've been gig'ing it since 2007. Obviously a 2 man lift but epic rig

I use a Boss GT10 to switch patches via midi .... both the JMP1 and the effects processor. I started out with an Alesis, Then a Roland GP then started using the effects within the GT10 so out the JMP1's effect send into the GT10 then back to the return and adjust effects amount of JMP1 to taste.

It's run in stereo ... One side is set wet and one not so wet. The drier side is mic'ed and set to FOH.
I did Portsmouth's biggest ever gig with this rig, over 100,000 people. I remember coming on stage, playing a big chord and it sounded like a the God of Marshall :) I mean the 70K PA helped but this thing is stupendously loud when you want it to be

When I had a rack, my bandmates drolly referred to it as "the maiden" because getting it up the stairs was torture. I think I'm happy to content myself looking at photos of all your epic rigs!

  • Racks are great if you have a roadie, and I would expect it’s a lot cheaper these days to put together a decent one using 90’s rack gear than putting together a boutique pedal board .
