FS: ‘97 Cunetto Sunburst Strat.... Withdrawn with Dibs

Hi all
Well it’s been a bit of a journey over recent months and it looks like my Angry Angus & Navigator Les Paul have gone and my new PRS DGT has taken over. I’ve long been keen to get down to just one electric and I think the DGT is it.... so, that just leaves a very special Custom Shop Cunetto Strat. 1997 I believe. I’m going to post the link to all the original details of when it was for sale in 2018 as I haven’t had it long I don’t know it’s history as well as the previous owners. I know Glen @wishbones (who is unfortunately no longer with us) said it was the best Strat he’d played.
Please take time to read the previous thread below to see what you’re buying... There is a faded dot marker on the 12th fret which makes it very unique (like David Bowie with one blue eye and one green)

Withdrawn for a rethink..... but a fabulous local player has dibs if and when it’s back up for grabs....He can really make it cry and sing.....

I don’t think so personally, given the refin, refret, missing certificate and non-original case. Lovely guitar though, GLWTS!

Looks that way to me. I’ve seen quite a few Cunettos with gold hardware, particularly in vintage white, fiesta red and daphne blue finishes.

I don’t think so. As I understand it, Cunetto’s involvement in the 90s Custom Shop guitars was that he finished and/or relic’d them, on a contractor basis. So if one’s been stripped of the finish….

This is probably priced about right for a nice 90s CS. Rest assured

Blimey...and I sold it when it was two for £1100. Well done. Still haven't found those old pics of it. One day when I clear out the storage lockup they will appear.

It left me with the COA and original shipping carton, not sure who lost it. I had so many of these I can't be sure who it went to, it could have been traded in at Chandlers then again I remember selling one to Peter Barton (music promoter and member of the Animals and The Alarm). In a box I have a load of old polaroids and there's ones of its new and with its original COA.

I know it’s crazy... I was in a shop yesterday with Custom Shop Strats at nearly £4K

Yeah, hard to adjust to the 'new' prices now....its out of control really. Only three years ago I bought an mint 90's Custom Shop Strat for £1200....now everything is £1900+ privately.

Well that’s kind of what I have now.... one Strat and one Tele ...
