If it's the one I think it is - just but a Modern Pro. I'll never understand how Suhr justify their ludicrous uncharges for custom models, particularly fancy woods.
What I don't get is why they don't match headstocks on the normal range. Non-matching headstocks suck!!

Step 1. Can you afford it?
Step 2. Do you want it?
    Step 3. If 1 & 2 = yes, then buy it.

You’ll only regret it if you don’t. You can always sell it on (although, bright pink???!!! Might take a special buyer ;) ).

I was coming round to the idea until a guy from work exclaimed shock at the price *hides* (he's a semi-pro jazz saxophonist who's had the same sax his entire life, which I think is cool)

I suffer GAS as much as the rest of us however, maybe ‘cos I’m getting older and have other things to worry about that may effect my spending power I have to consider first:-

Do I need it? - usually no

Can I get something similar that’s cheaper? - usually yes

Will it make my guitar solo in a certain song sound better - usually no

Can I afford it - usually no

Then bloody buying the thing anyway :(

    Married Edition
Step 3 - do you have physical room in the house?
Step 4- will the wife go nuts when you bring in your 15th guitar?

  • when i had my photography studio i suffered rampant gas ( for all things photographic) i learnt control by this mantra and stood by it to make a decision to invest in equipment.
    1) will it make me more money, had to be a tangible reason ie, allow me to offer a new product/service.
    2) will it save me money ie a printer or mounting press that saved money on outsourcing work.
    3) will it save me time ie save me money by allowing me to spend time on more productive work.

but now im into guitars i dont listen to any of the above.

I’ve just bought a pretty expensive camera which I didn’t really need @thomasross20. I went out on Sunday and took some pictures and I’m thrilled with the results. I’ve indulged myself and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Now the guitar you’re referring to sounds like it should appear in an 80s Billy Idol video and is therefore an affront to good taste. But if you want it, I say go ahead....

If you are too afraid to post it in here for fear that someone "nabs it", that's tells me you will kick yourself if you miss it. So get on and buy it!

What do you think of this?

The upcharge I think is a bit crazy just for the colour and the blower switch. Also to be honest while mahogany cuts through in band mix better (the guitar is mahogany) I think the basswood moderns might have the edge in terms of sound (the Bengal burst basswood version with roasted maple neck looks cool other than non-matching headstock and is 1k less - but the pink hog one looks stunning lol). Anyway, what do you think lol?

Thomas I honestly don't know what it does that your other two very fine electrics don't, but my god you could have the amp(s) of your dreams for that money.

I've spent less on cars and brand new Les Pauls over the last ten years than that. :)

@p90fool you're so right and I've had immediate remorse at spending so much before while I have two guitars that do what I want. I just really grabbed my eye and felt good but I'm not even gigging and if I do, it'll be acoustic! Maybe should use the cash for guitar holiday and singing lessons. As I said, it's typical this happens when NOT gigging!!

That's exactly it, if I'm not gigging I buy myself "presents" but if I am I weigh up income from gear against outgoings.
    Weird, and wrong!

This also looks good and is 1k less, basswood version.

    Sitting on it lol....
Btw I still "just" play through a blackstar valve amp but I love it!

Right, enough of this madness for one day!
