Board games for couples?

Hi all. 

Me and missus are living in the middle of new forest so can spend plenty of time in the garden, local routes and paths away from absolutely anybody. 

When indoors though, apart from movies and books - can you suggest any good board games that are interesting to play with 2 only? 

I have ticket to ride, monopoly and scrabble, some cards games - but I thought that maybe there are some good ones that I've never heard about? 

BTW- for those who will suggest "other" couples activities- we're covering plenty of that already

Kill Dr Lucky is simple but brilliant, Firefly is mega complicated but superb once you get the hang of it, and also presents an opportunity to research by watching it all again, and lamenting the most stupid decision to cancel a series ever!

Scrabble - Mrs H was gutted when I beat her as she thinks she is more intelligent - She probably is

Can also play a SMS version of scrabble

Or quick scrabble, were silly words  can be made ie xtra - We played this the other day and I had iiii within my 7 letters - My wife said what is that and I said 4 i's

Or indeed a slang version of Scrabble or indeed local dialect ie butty - In short blend proper words with 'unproper' words as required

MrsTheWeary is singularly uninterested in board games but if you don’t mind online then GeoGuessr can be done two handed or solo. Can be really interesting or can just be miles of dirt roads somewhere in Africa/ Poland/ Canada/ Brazil.

We have Exploding Kittens somewhere as mentioned by @LuttiS so I might dig that out.

To be honest the answer to most boardgame questions is to head to boardgamegeek.com where you can filter games by number of players, etc. Filter for the top rated two player games and pick a few that take your fancy.

I have Scrabble and Ticket to Ride - I have already ordered Exploding Kittens couple days ago - for the rest of suggestions - huge thanks- will check it out. 

I also revisited the xbox one that I have and haven't used for months - couple things there may be of use...

Deceptively simple. Play it first for imaginary points and learn about the doubling dice.

You can stick  with imaginary points but once you know how to play, try £1 per point or whatever, then it becomes a very different game.
