You want to highlight the f-hole with fluorescent lime green pin-striping.
Well dur.  Mixed with dayglo orange pickup covers and a puce headstock paint job.
    Now you're talking!

I like the anodized on two tone sunbursts.  This is my 82 Fernandes Revival with one:

I think it would look ace with a white pearloid guard

Now that is rather lovely.  More food for thought...

Aaaargh!  Too much choice!  I used to covet such a guard for my old Strat but never got round to fitting one.

Just get a good quality w/b/w with a nicely bevelled edge and call it done.

Single ply white is fine for 50s authenticity, but that has an f-hole anyway.
F holes are the New Way.  You heard it here first :)

Still not convinced about white.  Think I'll have a play on the Fender design your own app thing.
There's nothing at all wrong with the f-hole, I just meant it lets you off the hook of needing to follow tradition.
    :)

Tortoise always looks wrong with 50s-style colour schemes, to me. So does black, other than on butterscotch Teles.

I would go for anodised, three-ply parchment or white pearl.

Don't use the little felt things, they prevent the strap buttons being screwed in properly tight. Tight is good when it's holding up an expensive guitar :).
Three-ply parchment is the correct answer  :+1:
It looks traditional (which isn't always a good idea) but very stylish.

I know you've all been on tenterhooks.

You can take the lad outta the '70's, but...

...and before anyone says anything, I noticed a couple of the screws were too tight and released the tension slightly...

Like the black, think it suits that guitar more than tort would.

I find a good rum helps.

We're down to the weird green liqueur someone brought us back from holiday in Cyprus about 12 years ago :(

I'm inclined to agree.  Pretty pleased with how it turned out. The most minor of modifications, but pleases me aesthetically :)

Yep, drank some 'Hierbas' which was a gift from a neighbours Spanish holiday a couple of decades ago.
A low rent Benedictine/Pernod creation, more palatable with a coupçon of meths...

PS I still think that a 'parchment'  scratchplate would have looked very sweet too.

I found some arak spirit from my holiday in sri lanka about 15 years ago. Made from coconut and tastes like paint stripper
