I messaged him last night about the £999 part 61 strat, “could I grab a list of the original parts, eg the pickguard?”

response : if the pickguard was original it would add a few noughts to the price, then some waffle.

me: so just to be clear which parts are from a 61 strat

seller: not the neck, not the pickguard, not the pickups, maybe the body

Surely with this much money to dump on a vintage guitar, a potential buyer would know what he's looking at? I wouldn't know ,so therefore would not buy without someone knowledgeable. Oh yeah ,I've not got the money either:(

Yes, I would hope that anyone able to spend five figures on a guitar wouldn't be stupid enough to be taken in by any of these... but you'd probably be surprised.

Just to clarify my comment above...

I messaged the seller on the bay and got this response.

Now I’m no Miss Marples as you know... but... mr fancy red pants signs up yesterday and has made three posts. 1) wanting to talk to admins 2) pointing folk to a schecter neck on the bay and 3) stating that the seller has great feedback!...
