6 a side slotted headstock?

A while back I asked here if anyone had used carbon rods, rather than a truss. I'm now on neck #5 using carbon, and wouldn't go back (I am aware neck relief is a personal thing). 

At some point in the future, I'd like to try a slotted headstock. I was thinking that it should help the break angle, and also look distinctive. Any experience?

You may actually find the break angle too much.  It could lead to binding in the nut

With some careful design it should work


Note that riccies have shallow headstock angles, which works when slotted

Thanks Wez, I had thought I may be able to get away with a straight headstock... I'll get my pencil and paper out..

You probably can, but yeah, definitely draw it all out first.

Hi @TTony , I was considering 6 a side.... structural integrity is obviously a consideration but I think the geometry works. Just something I've been thinking about.
