Kithara Guitars - An Introduction

Some of you I'm sure were fortunate to see Ariel Posen on tour earlier this year across the UK, those of you who are eagle-eyed will have noticed he (and indeed his support act Cathal Murphy) were playing two rather beautiful Kithara Guitars.

These fine axes were crafted by Chris Moffett aka Kithara Guitars (www.kitharaguitars.com) who are based here in Northern Ireland. Chris is owner and luthier at Kithara, hand crafting instruments one-by-one from his workshop. With a current repertoire of an offset, tele, small hollowbody and his latest creation the "Harland" I'm sure there's an option that may be of interest.

I've partnered with Chris to bring his guitars to market - we've a couple in stock which are ready to go but can also provide a full custom build for you through Windmill Guitars. Feel free to get in touch.

We went to watch Ariel earlier in the year and Cathal was superb.

I saw Ariel Posen and Cathal Murphy and had a very nice chat with them about the Kithara guitar afterwards. They sounded ace. I wasn’t 100% sold on the headstock, but I think it works as a dark/light two tone. IIRC Cathal’s had a black headstock with a white, er, logo bit, which looked good.
