That Chord

Noodling yesterday and came up with a riff which started with the am thing which is the first chord of stairway. Mrs M said oh that’s stairway ( your playing it wrong!) 
Which got me thinking can you play that chord and it not immediately be Stairway , and also apart from the intro to Hards day night are there any other chords which can only be one song?

The first chord Alex plays in “Hemispheres” by Rush has ruined that chord for me no matter what the context.
