Question for someone who’s not very tech-minded (as in... me): it says these amp have an XLR output with a built-in IR. Would you then just need a small mixer to use the Tonemasters with headphone, or is it not as simple as that.

It's as simple as that! It has a 'mute' switch round the back for the internal speaker.
Excellent! Have you tried that yet? Just wondering how it sounds.

I do this through my zoom r24 when I’m trying not to wake the kids, works a treat and sounds very realistic.

Am trying hard not to buy a blonde one....that said, it would be replacing a HRD and being quieter than that is a big factor.

Quick question for all those with a TM Deluxe Reverb.

Do you have any amp humming sound? I noticed when I went above the 0.2w setting the amp is humming a bit. I don't know if amps do that normally or not. Fine when playing but it's kinda annoying when the amp is idle.

    Ah, it was the pickups.

That's good. I think modelling transformer hum for that authentic experience would be taking things a bit far...  :)

With the Roland Blues Artist the problem seemed to be with the tonal quality of the sound....it didn’t have the strength of character to state its case in the mix.....not a very musical description but you get the idea?

When I used Vox AC30s in the 60’s they always sounded a bit brash on their own but you didn’t have any trouble cutting through when the band was rocking....

An early tranny amp at that time was the Burns Orbit range....lovely tone in the shop ....totally useless on stage when they usually blew up whilst being inaudible at the same time ...

Massively improved my BCA by running a Secret Preamp into it.

I have indulged in a Blonde Deluxe Reverb.

Early days, but so far, it sounds great. I’m impressed  :)

Great to hear. Think i’ll be hiding my HRD away now, Will get it a service in the new year.

The Tone Master just sounds great, and holds it together at lower volumes too, which is ideal for me at home.

Inspires me to play. Pedals sound ace too  :)

  • Still loving my OG black DR. I went for the reverb mod but not the “bright cap” update as I’ve perfectly happy with how it sounds. It’s just a fantastic tool to have
