What is it? My first thought was a 1970s Japanese Melody Maker copy pickup - I seem to remember seeing one of those with adjustable polepieces.

I’ve always thought it would be cool to have a number of instances of the same home-build design - and the EE Delta always stuck in my mind...problem is, it’s not the sort of thing you come across every day...

Interesting... an audio transformer. It looks like a high to low, or maybe just unbalanced to balanced one - the secondary appears to be centre-tapped, although only half of it is being used.

I wonder why!

The original instructions were for very low wind pickups, matched to an amp using a transformer. Even though the pickups fitted are high impedance it looks like they've left it in
