    The End by the Doors.

Arguably quite a dull song but can be used for some off piste noodling in a drone/ faux Eastern style.

I think a lot of Neil Young stuff with Drop D is actually double drop D (i.e. the top E is dropped as well as the low one) but a passable F*ckin' Up can be achieved with just normal Drop D, and again you can detour on some fun excursions from there.

Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen, too.  Good one to practice one's harmony vocals to and all.

Edit: I know it's not really "Blues Rock" if you listen to the original, but you could easily put a more Bluesy slant on it, without really changing the basic structure especially if you don't sound like Freddie when you sing (which I presume you don't...)

Many thanks all. There's a few here to listen to with fresh ears. My old, old band did a blues rock version of Fat Bottomed Girls with the guitarist who replaced me so maybe I was destined to play a version of that!

I have the sound off on this at work so it's an act of faith that the song is what I think it is! But that could have been me. I could have been a contender... 8-X

Since we're more at the rock side than blues side I quite like playing Saturday Superhouse by Biffy Clyro in drop D. In the John fogerty area, ramble tamble is a blast, ccr, and also Bitter Creek by the eagles can be played in drop d. Not a big eagles fan but I like that one.

IIRC this was standard tuning, down a whole step.

If you fancy something acoustic,'May You Never' by John Martyn.

Cinnamon Girl - Neil Young (D Modal or some bollocks that basically means drop both E's to D.

A lot of Neil Young related songs are; there's The Loner, Cortez The Killer & Ohio...to name a few.
