Sorted it...

was the audio prefs... I’m guessing corrupted... binned them and it’s all happy now...

I'll bear it in mind, fired it up twice today, first time,morning session, immediate reboot, with everything working fine after.
Second time, afternoon session, no problems, did a lot of video editing, saving to external disks, no problems.

copied the session onto my Win machine, still in Reaper, does not recognise the video format, MP4.
Strange times indeed.
No problems playing in VLC, and have DIVX, or XVID video playing in another project???

Now Win is updating to 'latest version'......FFS.
