EDIT: On further watch, unlike my SLO it seems like it can’t do a standard reverb sound which is a pity.
My feedback thread is here.
1. Abyss: Huge reverb with no octave effect
2. Shimmer: Adds an upper octave to the reverb tail
3. Sub: Adds a lower octave to the reverb tail
4. Sub Shimmer: Adds an upper and lower octave to the reverb tail
5. Astral: Adds an upper and lower octave combined with a regenerating tail
6. Ascend: Upward pitch bending
7. Descend: Downward pitch bending
8. Cosmos: Adds a regenerating fifth to the reverb tail
I think Abyss mode will be a more standard reverb mode but in the Earthquaker demo vid they are messing around with it using the expression pedal and modulation etc so you don't really get to hear it as a standard reverb.
I just saw this video where the guy doing the demo does use it as a standard reverb for a bit before trying out the other modes:
Stereo would have been nice... but to be fair it is much cheaper than the R1 (£205 vs £319 RRP).
This time of year is terrible for GAS innit?
Stereo - how many people actually use two guitar amps all the time? Do you actually play with other people? Apart from you, when you play live who *actually* experiences the stereo spread?
And from a recording perspective having a separate stereo reverb for your guitar player thats as nuts as this is going clutter a mix very quickly. Want to make it ping pong around like a lune in a recorded mix... free plug ins are your friend and will inhabit much less audio 'space'.
I'm sure they'll sell loads of them...
Tone knob is always useful and give a lot of flexibility on my Dark world and will be interesting to see how that effects thing and tames those high octaves a bit. Interested to see how slow that stretch/pitch ramp can go as well.
Jamie has hinted at a fair few releases this year which will be nice to see as I have a real soft spot for Earthquaker.
I'd mainly use it as a "special effect", rather than as a standard reverb. The stretch button seems to be capable of some interesting things. Along with the demo above, I enjoyed this one:
