    I've never understood why people tout this as a mark of trustworthiness either. "I am doing the bare minimum to not get sued into penury by the tax office! Look how reliable I am!"

    @horse It doesn't take as much as you'd think. One custom shop going out the door a week will put you close to or above the 85k mark :) 
    Only if they are shipping brand new CS guitars. For used the VAT is only chargeable on the difference between bought and sold price. So more like 4 or 5 a week minimum.

    @Bridgehouse ;The 16.6% vat margin sceme is only applicable to the profit. If the turnover is more than 85k, vat registration is a must.
