So... what are we using for carrying cables, spare strings, batteries, etc?

I’m using a camera bag/ backpack type thing. Few pockets and plenty of padding if I put something more breakable in there

Use a Waitrose one, it's a step up obviously.
Not sure I’m middle class enough ;-)

(I understand that Waitrose have discontinued their Essentials range after poor people were spotted in one of their stores.)
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

Rucksack.  Guitar in one hand, amp in the other.  All in one journey.

    I have two kit bags.

Firstly a black heavy canvas tool bag ($15 from Kaufmann’s Army Surplus in New York. I finally found use for it - yippee) that I keep everything in at home.

And an old black canvas Marrimeko shoulder bag for rehearsals. Perfect - takes pedals, strings etc etc and is nondescript enough to have at work without being too big or over the top.

I use a Camera bag so there is some attempt at stuff being easily found in its correct compartment.

I've refined my leads and spares down to the level where they all fit in the pockets of my Thomann double guitar gigbag and pedal board case. Even the mic and stand can be slotted in somehow.

Pedal board goes over my back, guitar case in one hand, amp in the other and away we go

This allows me to get everything from car to venue and back again in one trip

As long as I am okay with the ensuing spinal injuries

I got a Focusrite bag off eBay years ago and use that. I'm not sure if it was designed to carry an I/O or a laptop, but it's big enough for my needs.

We use these, solid build, useful as an amp stand too (under combo) and protects everything well plus not too big in the car.

Before maplin closed I got a pack of three small cases from them, great for leads mics etc. There is a company that do the same stuff. I think I googled " Cases and enclosures ".
    Don't touch that dial.

  • the biggest wheeled luggage bag I could find. It carries 5 instrument cables, the guitar stand, spare kettle lead, speaker lead, mic lead, 2 power cables, gaffa tape and a water bottle.

mic and signal processor goes in a plastic toolbox.

Strings, strap & guitar tools goes in guitar case.
I sometimes think, therefore I am intermittent
