Trying to understand valves, phase inverters, etc. (...watt the hell?)

Sorry I should have been more specific, the engl. Amongst the plethora of schematics that I've gathered when I've had chance that's not one. I've a fair incling of what's awry, on the solid state side, but I wanted to take the helicopter view while I was at it and assess what else might be going on. Its a shame alot of people won't accept its hybrid nature, there's some nice ideas in it. Appreciate your response sir
