Q2:  Where in the world/country are you? Yorkshire

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition? I grew up playing the guitar and after taking about five years out, I'm raring to pick it back up again. 

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one? Tricky, I sold most of my collection five years ago, but I do sorely miss my original Malinoski Rodeo guitar. 

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one? I listen quite widely, "Said and Done" by Nils Frahm is track that I am extremely fond of.

Been playing for about 40 years, mostly blues, rock, and Jazz when I'm chillin, know a thing or two about

Q3: Main musical ambition? To stop buying/selling and trading gear long enough to practice and get semi decent! (Joining this forum won't help that I'm aware)

Q4: Best bit of gear? My 60's classic player strat which I'd put up against any MIA strat

Just starting to learn on a cheap acoustic (present from my son so have to keep it at the moment). Left handed with very small hands so struggling with some chords

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition? I play guitar to de-stress and want to  to be able to play a few songs well enough that everyone can recognise them

Hi all

Thought I would introduce myself and not be a total spammer of the classifieds.

Guitar wise I'm mostly into metal of the most brutal variety.  Current guitars i own are ESP horizon, ibanez rg2027xl, ibanez uv777, mayones duvelle elite and regius core classic, Suhr modern pro (for sale).

Got a blackface dual rec multiwatt, a mark v (for sale) and a dover da50 which always gets me loads of questions

Current trying to learn the ropes of mic'ing a cab rather than direct recording.

Hi all. I've been playing guitar and bass for a number of years and am in a few local bands. I have frequently found useful information on this forum, so thought I'd join in!

Q1:  Where did you username come from?

It was part of a band name I was in some years ago.

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition? Currently, I'm studying grade 4 piano, so it is to pass that and grade 5.

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

Not the best, but my favourite at this point in time (due to some crazy mods) and the one I would save from a house fire would be my first electric guitar: a MIJ Squier Stratocaster from 1994.  

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

I've never had a favourite song, so I'll pick one from one of my favourite bands and albums. Rocks Off by the Rolling Stones.

Q1:  Where did your username come from?

It's the name of my business which is a small, online retailer of guitar fx pedals and related gear. The name "funny little boxes" itself comes from my wife; when I first got into collecting pedals she didn't have a clue what the strange looking things lined up along the top of the piano were and just asked me outright one day "What are these funny little boxes" and the name has stuck ever since.

I've long since given up the rocks tar dreams I had when I was fifteen. I guess my main musical ambition now is to continue being able to earn a living from something associated with playing guitar that allows me to be surrounded by awesome guitar gear and talk to people about it all day!

My MIM Fender Telecaster in Tidepool Green. Got it in '03 and I think I will always love it over any other piece of gear.

After spending a number of years away (about 20) from the guitar in any serious form, I just want to brush up on my technique, tone, musical knowledge and general playing ability.  Then start to do more home recording as too old, tired and generally don't have the time to deal with band egos.

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

Fender Strat, 40th Anniversary Edition or maybe my ears -> but they seem to be failing these days.

This is difficult question to answer as there are too may, but I will go with a predictable Dire Straits - Telegraph Road.   But this could have been a number of tracks.

I keep my "identities" for different online interests completely separate, but one of the themes for "technical" interests is IDs starting with k - khaotic/khaotix was just the latest one that came to mind
